my birthday

This is the great gift Roger got me for my birthday, NEW PATIO FURNITURE!! (2 chairs, love seat and table) I love it! Need to rearrange, but can't wait to sit outside with a cold drink and watch Roger mow the lawn...hmmm...I think I need to buy some plants to brighten the porch up.

Smorgasbord

Today's post is a smorgasbord of things because this weekend we went to the Renaissance Faire and I forgot my camera! So no pictures of the boys enjoyed the jousting and of course anything that involved climbing.

However, I did crotchet...beanies! I found a youtube tutorial for beanie hats and flowers so I made three for Luna (Moon). I love them! They are a little big for her but that's okay they work. I'm planning on making washcloths with the remaining yarn. Rem (Raven) requested a camouflaged wash cloth...so off to the store to buy yarn.


Here is a crown I made for Ram, the idea is from soulemama's blog but the design is Ram's. I let him make a template which I made shorter he wanted a tall hat. The back has the elastic that made it much easier to make. To his joy it stood up!!! Wonderful mom points!!!


I'm almost done with this nautical theme quilt, planning to make it our lake quilt.

embellished onesie

I added fabric to this onesie to make it more attractive, it didn't turn out so bad! The blanket I made for the summer with Amy Butler fabric, I am obsessed with her fabric! has no batting to keep it light.

Welcome!

This is the my first post and I'm so excited I can't stand it! I love to craft and have tried varies things and I believe I have finally found what I truly enjoy...sewing. Although, I will continue to dab in other things because there is just so much fun stuff out there how can I not. My kids are my excuse to craft. As I was growing up my mother, aunts and grandmother taught me sewing, knitting and crocheting...never realized that we were crafting. My mother tried to teach me to cook, I avoided it, now I wish I had paid attention. Drawing, painting and coloring were things I came to enjoy, even though I consider my children better artist. Cooking now is one of my favorite things. I discovered quilting several years ago and was a goner. While I was home for 3 months after having my third child I discovered blogs...what a great way to keep a journal and share with everyone, it actually motivates me to finish projects! Can't wait to post all those finished projects!
