weird e-mail and some pictures

First I would like to start off that I'm not sure exactly what happened but some people got some spam e-mail from me today. It appears I sent some kind of advertising for enhancing your romantic life or some diet crap. I e-mailed yahoo to see if they can figure out what happened but in the mean time, I like to say I did not send any mail today, 27th of June. I apologize for the weird e-mail from me.

Here is a picture from the photography class I attended Saturday in OKC (which was also the birthday present Rog got me! Big smile on my face). It was actually fun and I enjoyed listening to Samantha Lamb talk about her process and her ideas and also left with some neat resources. I'm planing on putting some of my pictures on postcards.

This picture has some editing because I wanted to bring out the color and try something different. Samantha does little editing as she can to her pictures so this is not one of the things I learned. Also the class was taught at this neat store that sells handmade items and if it was closer to me I would go broke.

One more thing...Rog and I made the TulsaWorld newspaper! Yet again...haha! This picture was from a Freewheel ride we took about 10 years or more ago and it was originally in the paper the day after they took it. The article has some good advice on sunburns. Here in Oklahoma we are in the three digits already. Do you think I look fat? (haha!)

garden invadors

I was out shooting macro pictures while the kids played in the sprinkles, it's not quite unbearable hot, but it was pretty warm.

Dandelions have always intrigued me, they are so much fun to blow and they are so soft, but in my garden they create havoc...weeds!!! and they are so hard to get rid off. So here is this beautiful garden invader up close. A few minutes later Miss L got a hold of it and blew it everywhere as I hopelessly sat there and watch her from about 10 feet away...ugh! Well Rog has his work cut out for him...haha!

This is what I worked on, no bathing suite for me...haha!

I downloaded Photoshop Elements 9, the trial version [It maybe just my computer but it took almost 3 hours for me to download it, I do have tons of pictures that could be slowing down my pc]for the photo class I'm starting tomorrow and this picture has a little editing I still have not figured out the program. The dishcloth is also a project for the Cover to Cover group I'm in. Yellow is so sunny and summery!

sweet serenity

Just wanted to share this moment I spotted [before they spotted me]. They usually get along pretty well, but this rare moment that I hope [fingers crossed] will happen more often. They were all focused on one thing, sharing a small space, sharing the computer, and very engrossed. I don't even know what they were watching, maybe Tom and Jerry...*sigh* I'm content.

I pulled a 100,000 lbs. plane!

Summer weekend adventure.

This weekend was HOT and summer has only just begun!

We spent the weekend at the airport and gardening. (Actually the boys stayed indoors and played video games, they were smart!)

American Airlines donated this MD-80 to the Technology School and it's the plane we pulled.

Here's me pulling and my boss, George is behind...I didn't know the rest of the people but we all worked together pretty good.

Rem, his target was actually on the right and didn't get it in the picture, but 3 arrows hit the target.

Ram and what he did most of the time we were there, blow bubbles from the Children's Museum activities.

L also enjoyed making shapes at the Children's Museum activity center.

I just signed up for an online photo workshop. There is still time if anyone else is interested. This book actually caught my attention at Hancock Fabrics which lead to her blog. Karla you might want to check it out, since you like to draw.

Just about melted planting and transplanting this weekend.

Some impatients for the front yard, hopefully they will be in full bloom by the 4th of July.

I only got a chance to put in one hosta but I still need to put in 2 more.

Rog pulled out the juniper in the front yard. Now I need to landscape it' looks pretty empty now and of course pull the grass coming through.

knitting cover to cover

There is this neat site called Ravelry, created for the knitting and crochet community. I have checked it out for patterns but I have recently joined one of the groups, the Cover to Cover Quest. It's for people who want to complete all the projects in the book!!! Crazy!! I just happen to find this neat book at the bookstore for beginning knitters, my goal is to do all the projects...hence learn a lot. So I joined the group thus committing myself to it. Call my crazy!

This is my first finished project the cowl, it's a scarf that is round. Unlike the socks that were abandoned from an earlier post {back in 2009!}. Very sad because I fell in love with the color of the yarn but I kept having problems. I still have not totally forgotten the project and plan to continue. I think I have trouble knitting with aluminum needles I have switched to bamboo...ohhhh I like it! and I have one pair of rosewood which I have been told once you knit with those you won't want anything else. They are  a little pricier, but I didn't notice a difference, as much as I noticed using the aluminum ones...ignorance is bliss. I just don't any better...LOL! The cowl was made with the rosewood needles. It's a lavender color and doesn't show very well in this picture. It's a chunky yarn from Twinkle, which I bought at my local yarn store, the pattern was free on Ravelry.

This is my next project, Fibonacci blanket, the yarn has come in!!! Exciting stuff!  I had to buy 4 times the amount because this is originally a baby blanket pattern,  and I will be making a throw. I bought the same colors so it should look just like it...sorry no creativity on my part. I will be using round needles...something new for me.

Also, I was at the Loops my local yarn store {a different time...don't tell Rog} and Gene who created the pattern works there and was in the store. He is a nice man. Anyways, I thought that was very cool, met the author...

One final thought there has been alot of tornatic activity in our area of the Midwest, I'm sure you have heard that Joplin, Missouri was hit the hardest this past Sunday evening. I had planned to make a contribution to the Red Cross but we have an employee in our department whose parents lost their home and they are in the process of working with their insurance company but are lucky enough to have found a hotel nearby and they were not hurt. We will be directly supporting our fellow co-worker. Please keep everyone else in your thoughts and prayers. We were hit with more severe weather on Tuesday, luckily for us it missed us but there were areas hit and a few lives lost.

The Painted Lady butterflies came out of their chrysalises today...there are just two left to come out, maybe by tomorrow! The boys are so excited, Ram is camping out in the kitchen next to them he doesn't want to miss anything. Being Friday he can stay up late.
The pictures are not great because they were taken with the net in between me and the butterlies.
Their life span is just several weeks so we will probably let them out soon, as long as the weather stays nice. It has been raining a lot these past few days.
