inspiration

Pia you inspired me...
Just a little bit actually. I signed the boys and myself to participate in this years Route 66 Marathon! We will be running/walking the 5K...haha! What did you think it was the whole thing! NOT!
Rem was not happy to find out I did that, a little freaked out was more like it, so we talked about it and he is fine now. We have just under 3 months to train, I'm actually excited! Williams who I work for is the main sponsor, yea!
Maybe next year you can do the half marathon with us?!?!?!

stress therapy

I have to admit I have a problem. I'm one of those that shop as therapy. When I get stressed out I go out shopping. Luckily I don't get stressed out that often and I don't spend a lot.  I just buy something, it could be anything small, candy, new pen, or a card ...actually from what I have noticed I think I go shopping to get away, most of it is window shopping. It actually helps me organize my thoughts. I had a very stressful job at one time and it left me with TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint disorder) so now I clench my jaw when I get stressed out, which leads to jaw and head aches. When the pain gets to that point I'm starting to figure out that I am stressed out. Pain killers and a mouth guard help for a time until I can take the stressful situation under control. It's usually too much work and I need to stop and prioritize and same thing at home.
Life just gets too overwhelming at times.
Anyways...I wondered into JoAnn's on my lunch hour and they had the rotary cutter's on sale (40% off, got to love JoAnn's!). I've always wanted an OLFA cutter so I purchased one and the new Crafty magazine. I like this magazine because it reminds me to keep it simple and I love their logo!
Have a great non-stress remainder of this week!

loving this new fabric line, flight patterns

I am so in love with this collection, you can read more about it here. I love watercolors and these fabrics are just beautiful. I want a to make a scarf and some stuff for L. I feel happy when I look at it. I can't wait to get of hold of some, like I don't have enough fabric! haha! Reminds me of Alexander Henry stuff which I am a big fan of.

new banner

Not sure if anyone noticed my new banner? I have been looking into purchasing design services to create one for my shop and blog, they can be pricey but if your blog or shop is not a hobby, like mine, it maybe worth it. So I purchased my new banner on etsy, the seller advertised for $5 he would work for 5 minutes and the finished product is what you got. I have to say I always pictured the name in the logo, the raven, ram and moon but always thought it would be childish. I like it, not crazy about the font but it works...for $5,Hello!!! I'm having trouble getting it the right size for my etsy shop so if anyone has hints let me know. It's doesn't shrink in proportions, the picture tens to warp.
Well let me know what you think!

look who has a tattoo!

I didn't go crazy, not into pain and not that brave. It's a tattly tattoo! but I feel dangerous...haha! as dangerous as you can feel with a cupcake on your wrist. I bought their premier set and they included this baby for free. Me and the kids are going to get all tat-out this summer!

blocks for auction quilt

I made two 12" blocks for our Modern Quilt Guild, they will be putting them together for an auction quilt for tornado relief.

This one I call "help is on the way" for the work the red cross does.

This one I call "after the storm" there is always something beautiful after much tragedy and in Oklahoma we get beautiful rainbows after a storm.

Close up of the heart-land embroidery on "after the storm" block.
